About Me

Welcome to my website. My name is Andrijana Jeremic, but many of my clients prefer to call me “Andie”. I am a registered Counselling Psychologist based in Umhlanga, South Africa.

I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA no. PS 0146064) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF practice no. 0899216).

It is my belief that all people deserve to have a therapeutic space where they feel heard, seen, empowered, and safe. This is what I hope to provide for the people who see me for therapy.

I provide therapy to adults and couples, either in-person at my offices in Umhlanga or online using Zoom.

My areas of interest include:

Anxiety and worrying

Depression and rumination

Anger, stress, and burnout (finding work-life balance)

Psychological adjustment to life changes and/ loss

Self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence

Relationship problems

Career challenges

Sport performance and other sport-related issues (injuries, transitions out of sport)

Personal growth and mindfulness

My therapeutic approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative in nature and is informed by the understanding there is a connection between the body and mind and that to build a greater sense of connection with ourselves, others, and the world, we must aim toward building a sense of safety, flexibility, and resilience within our nervous system.

I utilise a combination of techniques to facilitate insight, awareness, change, growth, and healing. These may include:

Traditional psychotherapeutic techniques

(schema therapy, narrative therapy, internal family systems, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, and compassion focused therapy)

Body-focused work

(nervous system education, breath work, mindfulness, visualisations, guided meditation, gentle movement)

Expressive arts

(paint, music, dance, collage, poetry, clay)

Neuro-based tools

(BWRT® – BrainWorking Recursive Therapy, Level 1)

A combination of approaches and/or techniques used are guided by the presenting concerns, personal history, personality, and individual strengths of each person. This approach is holistic and considers the mind, body, and spirit.
